We hit the ground running on Friday with our first full day of screenings at both Guild Hall and Sag Harbor Cinema.
Audiences enjoyed JULIA, Betsy West and Julie Cohen’s biopic of Julia Child, and Executive Producer Alec Baldwin moderated the Q&A after BILL MAULDIN: “IF IT’S BIG, HIT IT,” with filmmakers Don Argott and Sheena M. Joyce and Bill Mauldin‘s son Sam. We welcomed five filmmakers from our University Short Films Showcase, including two who joined us all the way from Israel!
The latest JR Project PAPER & GLUE received two awards at its screening Friday afternoon: The Brizzolara Award for Films of Conflict and Resolution, and the Victor Rabinowitz & Joanne Grant Award for Social Justice.
And finally, Maggie Gyllenhaal returned to HIFF for her directorial debut THE LOST DAUGHTER, accompanied by her lovely daughter Ramona Sarsgaard.
