Slideshow: SummerDocs Screening of ‘Last Days of Vietnam,’ Dinner Honoring Bob Balaban

This past Saturday, director Rory Kennedy screened her latest film for the SummerDocs audience at Guild Hall of East HamptonLast Days in Vietnam, which will debut in theaters this September before airing on American Experience on PBS, is a riveting documentary about the harrowing evacuation of Saigon in 1975. Following the screening, SummerDocs host Alec Baldwin moderated a conversation with Kennedy, film subject Colonel Stuart Herrington, and HIFF Artistic Director David Nugent.

 

 

Following the festivities at Guild Hall, HIFF Board Member Bob Balaban was feted at an intimate dinner at the home of Board Chairman Stuart Match Suna and his wife Vicki. Guests included Alec and Hilaria BaldwinRory Kennedy and her husband Mark Bailey, Kennedy’s aunt Jean Kennedy Smith, Pulitzer Prize-winning historian and author Robert Caro, and the honoree himself.
