In a private home on the Upper East Side, supporters of the Hamptons International Film Festival gathered this week to inaugurate our Auteur Dinner Series. The salon-style evening—which raised funds for HIFF’s upcoming summer initiatives—introduced patrons to filmmakers and musicians with past, present and future connections to the Festival and to the Hamptons.
In addition to elegant hors d’oeuvres and lovely cocktails, the guests were treated to a discussion with three filmmakers with a cinematic history with Hamptons Film: Andrew Rossi (Page One: Inside The New York Times, SummerDocs 2011), Amir Bar-Lev (Happy Valley, HIFF 2015) and Alex Karpovsky (Red Flag, HIFF 2012).
The evening’s entertainment also included musical selections from established entertainers Joe McGinty, G.E. Smith, and Sean Altman and up-and-coming singer-songwriter Victoria Zaro. Hostess (and HIFF board member) Lois Robbins then treated the salon to a classic tune from her recent show at 54 Below.
Thanks to everyone who joined us for what we hope is the first in an exciting series of events. As always, the generosity of our growing Hamptons Film community is much appreciated!
