John Alexander is an American painter. He attended graduate school at Southern Methodist University in Dallas in 1969 and currently resides in New York. He has exhibited extensively in the United States and around the world and has had a major retrospective at the Smithsonian American Art Museum and the Museum of Fine Arts in Houston. John Alexander’s work is included in many notable permanent collections of leading museums such as the Corcoran Gallery of Art, Washington D.C.; The Metropolitan Museum of Art, New York; the Guild Hall Museum, East Hampton; the Museum of Contemporary Art, Los Angeles, as well as many other renowned public and private collections worldwide.
