18th Annual SummerDocs opens with KNIFE: THE ATTEMPTED MURDER OF SALMAN RUSHDIE

Our 18th annual season of SummerDocs opened with a powerful screening of KNIFE: THE ATTEMPTED MURDER OF SALMAN RUSHDIE, Alex Gibney’s harrowing documentary that is both a striking testament to freedom of expression and a defiant response to the attempt on Rushdie’s life.

The evening began with a lovely reception hosted at The Hedges Inn.  Guests then moved over to the screening at Guild Hall, after which Alec Baldwin and David Nugent moderated a lively Q&A with director Alex Gibney.

Thanks to our friends at Guild Hall, and to all who joined us! We look forward to seeing you at our next SummerDoc, THE LION QUEEN, on August 1st, and THE LAST FIRST: WINTER K2 on August 29th.
