Friday Flashback: Maggie Gyllenhaal

Over the past eight weeks, our Friday Flashback series has primarily revisited conversations from our popular SummerDocs series, with the discussions available for free on our YouTube channel.

Moving forward, each Friday we will offer all HamptonsFilm members access to a previously unreleased A Conversation With… video from a past festival.

Join today for access to this conversation, and more in the weeks to come. We will send you this week’s password upon joining, and new videos and passwords each week in a special members-only email. We look forward to welcoming you to our member community.

On the Opening Night of the 2018 Hamptons International Film Festival, we presented the East Coast Premiere of Sara Colangelo‘s film THE KINDERGARTEN TEACHER, starring Maggie Gyllenhaal.

The following day, Maggie sat down with HamptonsFilm Co-Chair Alec Baldwin for one of our signature conversations at the Bay Street Theater. Their discussion covered her 25-year career, including her breakout role in SECRETARY, classic roles in films like THE DARK KNIGHT and SHERRYBABY (Golden Globe nominee for Best Actress), and her Oscar®-nominated turn in CRAZY HEART, opposite Jeff Bridges.

In recent years, Maggie has added “producer” to her credits, producing and starring in the acclaimed television series The Deuce with HBO (Golden Globe nominee for Best Actress), and The Honourable Woman with the BBC, for which she won the Golden Globe for Best Actress.

On this Flashback Friday, feel free to revisit THE KINDERGARTEN TEACHER on Netflix, or any of her other exceptional work from the past two decades.

HamptonsFilm members will receive a password for this video via email:

Please enjoy the film and the conversation, and join us next Friday for another Friday Flashback movie + conversation.
