Cinematography Master Class
Each year, The Hamptons International Film Festival and Kodak partner present a Master Class with a leading cinematographer during the festival. Past guests have included Michael Ballhaus (GOODFELLAS, THE DEPARTED), Frederick Elmes (THE ICE STORM, WILD AT HEART, THE NAMESAKE) and Ellen Kuras (ETERNAL SUNSHINE OF THE SPOTLESS MIND, SUMMER OF SAM). The intimate event provides both filmmakers and film aficionados with a rare view into the creative process. The event features clip presentations, trade secrets, and tips on lighting for film.
2009’s Master was Barry Sonnenfeld, the acclaimed Hollywood producer and director of blockbusters such as MEN IN BLACK, GET SHORTY and THE ADDAMS FAMILY, and originally began his career as an exemplary cinematographer. Sonnenfeld is known for his unforgettable work on classic films such as RAISING ARIZONA, MILLER’S CROSSING, BIG and WHEN HARRY MET SALLY, among many others.
