On Saturday, August 27, HIFF closed out our 2016 SummerDocs series with a sold-out crowd for A PERFECT CANDIDATE at Guild Hall of East Hampton.
A classic of the political documentary genre, A PERFECT CANDIDATE follows Oliver North’s 1994 campaign for Senate, a race that has uncanny parallels to our current political season. Following the film, directors R.J. Cutler (THE SEPTEMBER ISSUE) and David Van Taylor (ADVISE & DISSENT) joined Alec Baldwin and David Nugent on stage for a engaging and provocative Q&A.
Before the screening, HIFF guests gathered at Baker House to celebrate the screening at a lovely party sponsored by Beach Magazine. As always, a special thanks to Candescent Films for returning to sponsor this year’s Audience Award.
