Slideshow: 14th Annual HIFF Screenwriters’ Lab

Blessed with abundant sunshine, the participants of the 14th Annual HIFF Screenwriters’ Lab enjoyed the comfort of c/o The Maidstone inside and out, tirelessly dissecting plots, characters and storylines we anticipate will be great films one day.

Following each day of productive mentoring sessions were dinner parties generously hosted by members of the Festival’s Board of Directors. The first event was an intimate dinner, during which the Lab participants were able to get to know one another in preparation for the packed weekend of mentoring.

The following night’s dinner party reflected the growing artistic solidarity that the Lab—and the Festival in general—foster each and every year. With attendance including a mixture of media elite, past mentors and writers, and engaged artists and supporters unique to the Hamptons, the Lab participants were embraced by a community that they will call home for years to come. Following each dinner, passionate debates and discussions about the projects carried on very late into the night… and still managed to begin again early each morning.

We are thankful to the Alfred P. Sloan Foundation for their continued support, and we look forward to showcasing two of these unique projects (Kendell Klein’s Jane and Jared Goodman’s European Zero) at the Hamptons International Film Festival this fall. (Save the dates: October 8-12!)
